Tyler Garcia-Posey, born on October 18, 1991, in Santa Monica, California, is an American actor and musician renowned for his versatility and dynamic presence in the entertainment industry. With a career spanning over two decades, Posey has evolved from a child actor into a prominent figure in television, film, and music.

Early Life and Introduction to Acting

Raised in Santa Clarita, California, Tyler is the middle child of Cyndi Terese Garcia and actor-writer John Posey. He has two brothers, Jesse and Derek. Of Mexican descent on his mother's side, Posey was introduced to the performing arts early on, often accompanying his father to film and television sets. His acting journey began at the age of six, performing on stage alongside his father. By eight, he secured a recurring role as Raul Garcia in the medical drama Doc (2001–2004), and at nine, he portrayed Ty Ventura, the son of Jennifer Lopez's character, in the romantic comedy Maid in Manhattan (2002). 

Breakthrough with Teen Wolf

In 2011, Posey landed the lead role of Scott McCall in MTV's supernatural drama Teen Wolf. His portrayal of a high school student turned werewolf resonated with audiences, earning him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Posey's performance garnered several awards, including the 2012 ALMA Award for Favorite TV Actor – Leading Role. He also received multiple Teen Choice Award nominations, winning Choice Summer TV Star: Male in 2012 and 2017.

Beyond acting, Posey expanded his role in the series by serving as a co-producer starting in Season 5 and making his directorial debut in Season 6 with the episode "After Images."

Posey's filmography includes diverse roles in both film and television. Notable film appearances encompass Collateral Damage (2002), White Frog (2012), Yoga Hosers (2016), and Truth or Dare (2018). On television, he has featured in series such as Brothers & Sisters, Lincoln Heights, Smallville, Workaholics, Jane the Virgin, and Scream: The TV Series.

In 2023, Posey reprised his iconic role as Scott McCall in Teen Wolf: The Movie, a continuation of the original series, released on Paramount+.

Musical Pursuits

An accomplished musician, Posey co-founded the band Lost in Kostko in 2009, serving as the lead vocalist and guitarist until the group's disbandment in 2013. He later formed the pop-punk band Five North, releasing the EP Scumbag in 2020. Posey has also embarked on solo musical projects, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
